I have never experienced Reiki before - do I need to know anything about it before a treatment?
Reiki is a beautiful Japanese energy practice and takes place with the client completely clothed and comfortable, either reclined or seated. The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century. Reiki is a natural healing energy that works on every level, not just the physical, and is understood to promote the body’s regenerative self- healing ability.
A full 2 way consultation will be undertaken at the first treatment.
I have never had a Thai massage - what should I expect?
Thai massage is an ancient healing system combining acupressure and assisted yoga postures.
Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions. The recipient remains clothed during a treatment. There is constant body contact between the giver and receiver, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked. The recipient wears loose, comfortable clothing and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. The receiver will be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage, that is also combined with deep static and rhythmic pressures.
The massage generally follows designated lines ("sen") in the body. The legs and feet of the giver can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands fix the body, while the feet do the massaging.
Do I need to buy special equipment for the course?
The only things you will need are:
1. A yoga mat for yoga classes at home and somewhere to roll it out;
2. Yoga blocks, a yoga strap and bolster (or cushions and a long belt)
3. A cushion for meditation;
4. A4 & A5 notebooks for journalling; and
5. Access to a computer/tablet/phone with internet access that plays videos and allows 2 way communication for coaching calls.
How much time every week would I be expected to spend studying the course materials?
This is completely up to you.
The journalling exercises are open-ended so you can write as much or as little resonates with you in any particular week.
The yoga classes begin at 15 minutes length and grow to 60 mins by the end of the course.
The meditations begin at 10 minutes and grow to 30 minutes.
Can I download the meditations instead of listening to them online
Yes - on the meditation graphic you will see the word 'download'. Click on this word and you be able to download the meditation to any device you wish.
How long do I have access to the online yoga classes & meditations?
The online classes and meditations are yours to keep. You will always have access to these components of the programme. You can revisit them as many times as you wish.
You will also have access to any updates of the online components and any new materials produced once you've finished your 16 weeks. This is my gift to you as someone who has invested in the programme and themselves. You will always be the first to know of the new materials available.
